Top BB Creams!

Hey,
So today I was thinking about summer and how much I love it and how everything is so different in summer. From the clothes, weather and even makeup. Brands release summer collection full of gorgeous shades of lipsticks, to light coverage foundations and numerous bronzers. To be honest that's one of my favourite things about summer besides the weather!
In summer when it's hot you never want your full face of foundation on, so BB cream is the perfect way to provide coverage yet not feeling cakey (or looking cakey!)! I have tried numerous BB creams, and have come to the conclusion that these are my three favourites!

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream - £7.99
I have had a love hate relationship with this BB cream for a long time now. I think I may have mentioned it in a post ages ago about products I weren't keen on. I now am actually really loving it, before when I hated it I really didn't like the coverage but I think that was because my skin was a lot worse. Now that I don't need that much coverage all the time, I'm loving it. Although I don't love the consistency as it is really runny, it still does a great job. I would defiantly recommend this to any younger readers, or people who aren't allowed to wear much makeup, or even just for people wanting lighter coverage for summer or just in general!

Miss Sporty So Clear Perfect Skin - £3.49
At a complete bargain, I love this. You cannot get much cheaper than this for a great BB cream. It's a really thick consistency which I love and has great light coverage. Put it this way, it covers what you want but lets your natural skin be seen. It's not cakey, and has all sorts of goodness to help your skin. Including 'Natural emollient agents to help to moisturise skin', 'oil-free', 'Absorbs excess oil' and many other great things! I bet you never thought of Miss Sporty when looking for a great BB cream. I am actually getting a big fan of Miss Sporty and am hopefully going to be trying there tinted lip balms, as they look very similar to the 'Maybelline Baby Lips' (which you can't get in England that easily!). Overall a great product!

17 BB Blemish Balm - £6.99
This is one of my favourite BB creams, I have repurchased this 3 times and am almost run out of this tube (need to restock for summer!), for me its the perfect coverage, consistency, shade and its super affordable. The coverage once again blurs and covers any imperfections, but never clogs up your skin or makes your face look cakey! It has SPF 25, perfect for beach days! It claims 'no make-up make-up', which I agree with 100%. It's completely natural and it smells lovely, non of that artificial 'I-know-I'm-wearing-foundation' smells!

I hope you've enjoyed that, and found out some new BB creams, and hopefully go and try them out! Also if you've read my other posts you will know I won a competition to be a guest editor on Punky Princess, and I have written my first post! It's all about summer handbag essentials (click the link to read), and that is a series I am doing on Punky Princess - next up on that is summer makeup essentials! I also have my bio (click on the link to read) so if you want to know a bit more about me check it out! I am super happy that I won, and I will keep you updated on how it's going! Also they have kindly sent me some goodies for you guys, so I will be having ANOTHER giveaway so look out for that!

Summer is coming - OOTD

Hey,
This is going to be a shock, I am doing an ootd. Lets take a moment....
I have been wanting to do an OOTD for ages, and it's either I forget, run out of time, I look dreadful etc... Today I just sucked up and dealt with it. If you live in Britain you may have felt the temperature go up (it's about time!), and it was gorgeous today. I was not cold at all, score!

Top - Lewis Mokler
Skirt - Henry Holland
Shoes - Primark
Sunglasses - Primark

I was just having a casual day with the family, so just threw on this. I thought it looked pretty cute and adding the 'converse's' looked slightly edgy and different! I'm in love with my skirt, I think it's so colourful, cute and summery. Perfection. I just chucked on a plain t-shirt which happens to be my 'band tee' from Lewis Mokler, type him into youtube. His amaaaazzzzzingg! Then with my shoes and FAVOURITE sunglasses, I thought it looked pretty cute!
-Note to self, stop saying cute.-
I pretty much spent my afternoon lounging about in the garden attempting to get a tan, which failed. Played a lot of games, ate way to much junk food, then attempted to exercise which also failed.
Hope you've all had a good weekend and if your studying for exams then good luck! Let's hope this weather stays like this!

Spring 50 follower giveaway!

Hey,
A bit more of a exciting post today, a giveaway! Everyone loves a freebie or two! I recently hit 50+ followers (*fan girls), so to celebrate and say thank you I thought I'd pop into town and pick up a few cheeky things! I still remember when I got my first follower (and what her name was, which I won't say - you know who you are!), I was so excited. Now to think that 50 people read my blog is insane. Now onto the prizes, which of course are what everyone is interested in!

You will be winning...
  • Travel sized simple face wash. This has been my holy grail face product, I use this morning and night and swear by it. Its gentle, doesn't smell bad and doesn't make my face breakout and keeps blemishes away! What more could you want?
  • A travel sized Aussie 3 minute miracle hair treatment. I love this, it makes your hair feel incredible and it smells... AMAZING.
  •  A travel sized pack of simple wipes. These are my absolute favourite makeup wipe, they're so gentle on your skin and are perfect for removing makeup and dirt from your face!
  • Nail Polish remover pads. These are an essential for me, I cannot stand the strong smell of liquid remover. Therefore these are quicker and smell less strong, and are perfect for when you're in a rush!
You may be wondering 'Why are they all travel sized?', well my thinking was summer is coming up which means the holiday season is coming. These items are perfect for slipping in your travel bag, so I thought instead of buying full sizes and big makeup things, these would be more suitable!

I know this is a small giveaway, but I really just wanted to say thank you for everything! I have been given some amazing opportunities through blogging! Next stop is 100 followers, then I'm sure it'll be a bigger giveaway!

Rule's will all be in the actual 'entering process', but unfortunately this giveaway is not international. So only people who live in the UK will be able to enter! Sorry!

Avon review!

Hey!
So the lovely people at Avon recently sent me some goodies, and I said I would review them! So for the last week I have been testing them out and experimenting with them! It's fair to say I love them! So here go's my rave...

Furthest one away - 'Silver'
One closest - 'flash'

To start with I'll talk about the eyeliners! These are called the 'Super shock, gel eyeliner'. I got mine in the colours silver and flash. When I first received these I was super impressed with the pigmentation, literally you need a light hand! I tried out a look using these eyeliners, and when it came to washing it off it was so hard. I used makeup remover, water, makeup wipes. They eventually did come off but I was impressed, they weren't going anywhere so a while! These are a big love of mine at the moment!

Blush blush blush. Let's all just take a moment of appreciation for this colour, oh my. This is one of my all time favourite blushes. Just like the eyeliners it's super pigmented and stays on all day. I got a lot of compliments at the weekend on how it looked, score!! I will be repurchasing this over and over again, for sure!

This nail polish is an amazing colour, its called 'turqouise pop' and is a gorgeous mint green. After testing this out over the weekend, it is super fast to dry which is great and it doesn't chip for ages. This is a all around amazing nail polish! I will be looking to get some more colours!

I hope you all now feel inspired to go onto Avon and start to take a look on there website, they do have some amazing products! Now I've got an announcement.... I won a competition on the website 'Punky Princess' to be there guest editor from 1-30th of June! Wow, I'm super excited! I will be taking over the beauty section and writing over there! I will still be posting on this blog, but a little less frequently! Don't panic though, I will be posting and if you're really missing me that much you can go and read my posts over on Punky Princess! I am also doing a giveaway for hitting 50 followers!! Everyone loves a giveaway, I have brought the things and have almost finished the post so hopefully that should be up some time this week! It includes some favourites, but it's not huge so don't get too excited!

Follow, comment and all that jazz! + look out for that giveaway!

Competition time!

Hey!
So today I thought I'd make you aware of a great competition that is currently going on. Punky Princess is a website which involves fashion, baking, hair, nails, celebs, gossip. Literally anything! It's an amazing website! They emailed me and made me aware of a competition that they're hosting to find a guest editor! They say:

'We are looking for three guest editors to take over a section of the Punky Princess website, writing and editing the stuff you want to see on the site.'

I have entered myself in the competition as I think as it's great to get my writing skills up and also be dedicated to something and say 'I am part of that'. I would love to win just as much as anyone else who has entered, but I know they're so many amazing bloggers who would be great at the role. Therefore I would love for maybe some of you guys to get involved.

If you're interested, click on this link http://www.punkyprincess.com/fun/competition-search-for-punky-princess-guest-editors/ and it'll take you to the rules of the competition.

Please get going as I'm pretty sure the competition end's really soon!

(I forgot I wrote this post ages ago, and found this in my drafts and completely forgot to post this! silly me, but still get entering!)

Haul with the sister!

Hey!
So today I took a quick trip into town, and me and my sister both picked up some things so together we thought we'd combine them to make a haul! I have £0 now, and of course just as I have no money all the shops bring out the best clothes, typical. But for now here's what we got!

This is a bit odd for me to buy books, but I did! Recently I have been thinking that I need to get into reading more, of course I read magazines but I wanted a good old book to read! I'm constantly reading fashions mag's so my vocabulary tends to consist of words featured in 'Elle' or 'Vogue' not the dictionary (if you get me!). I headed into Waterstones and ended up coming out with two, the book 'Skinny' really intrigued me because it seems to be all about a girl with weight issues who has a little voice on her shoulder called 'skinny', how is constantly abusing her with words about her weight. I think this is a issue which most girls including me, go through. The next book is written by one of my favourite authors and it just pulled me in. It seems to be set in the war time and is about some boy and an elephant, as you can tell I don't know as much about this one! If you guys want an update or review on these books just let me know!

The main reason we went to superdrug was because I am doing my sister's prom makeup (I'm quite scared to be honest!), therefore I wanted to pick up some new products to try out on her! I have heard so much about the sleek palette's and the palette in the shade 'storm' was a must have. I've heard these colours stay on for ages, have great pigmentation, are easy to work with, and someone said they were as good as mac (wow!). So for £7.99 that was coming home with me!
Next on my list was lips, me and my sister decided to go for really subtle lips so we found this Maybelline Colour Sensation in shade '132' (sweet pink). We tried it on when we get home and its gorgeous. The colour is lovely!
After a long chat with my sister she decided she didn't want huge fake lashes, so I thought we could just use these individual lashes at the outer corners to make the eyes 'pop' and the lashes to look incredible. Hopefully it'll look lovely! I think these were about £3.49?!
We still have a few more items to get, foundation, bronzer, etc... but I'm really happy so far and so is my sister!

Ok, So it's Ellie's sister here, i've taken over her blog for a little bit. MWAHAHAHA!! I'm just gonna show you what I brought in town...
So, I was wandering around in Boots, not really knowing what to do when I came across the Maybelline display, and what did i notice - my absolute favourite mascara was on offer (WOOP!!!) Of coourse, being the planner I am, I decided to buy one. The mascara is called Maybelline Rocket Volum' Express Waterproof. It's just like amazing - and it had £2.00 off, so it was £5.99. I'm very excited. I will be honest with you guys, I am not the best moisturiser in the entire world - I always forget to moisturise etc. So, in order to change it (Ellie always gets on at me to moisturise) I brought some Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser. I've used some of ellie's before (Sssh) and loved how quickly my skin becomes beautifully moist again. It was only £3.79 as well, which I thought was cheap compared to others so I snapped it up (In case you haven't noticed I'm a little bit of a bargain hunter) I love Simple products, as the feeling that you are not putting chemicals that are bad for you and are being kind to your skin just makes me feel insanely good!
So, there I was on my way to the till and I noticed this nail polish display. I have never heard of the brand before - but having googled them since they seem quite good. The polish was only £1.99 and I was like I have to buy one and try it out. Having looked at some reviews since, I get the impression that this may have been quite a good buy. A lot of them are 5 stars. The shape of the bottle makes it seem really professional, and I think i may buy a few more colours. I have not tried it out that because I would only have to take it off because of school. But when I do, I may try and persuade Ellie to let me do a review post on them. I brought the glitter one because not only if mine getting a bit old, but also because I want to try this gradual glitter effect on my nails. Fingers crossed this was a great purchase!
And now, onto a favourite of mine.... Tresemme Touchable Finish Ultimate Hold and Platinum Shine. I have brought this quite a few times before, and absolutely love it to bits. Sadly, my last one was used up far too quickly due to someone (Ellie) using it a lot. But this one will be hidden somewhere secret... It is so good, an it keeps in all day, and comes out easily. I definitely recommend it. I brought it from Savers (I know, but it is so much cheaper than anywhere else) And it was only £3.99 which is really cheap. Whilst I was in Savers, I also brought a packet of Tangfastics for £1, and ate them all watching a film, (I've been in one of those pig out moods for a couple of days...) Well yeah, It was nice doing this blogpost (if you wanna check out my Blog, although it's not really anything to do with beauty, fashion etc though I may do a few posts on hauls etc and I only set it up yesterday its: www.abeautifuleyeopener.blogspot.com) See ya, Katie xxx

Ellie back now! I hope you've enjoyed reading and if you like my sister's little segment then make sure to go over to her blog and follow. Please do, she's just started and I think you guys will love it! Hope you've all had a good weekend!

Lips lips lips...

Hey!
I hope you've all been enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend, and the gorgeous weather! The weather has turned for the better now, and I can just say that yesterday I wore a dress with NO tights and I was boiling! Anyway I shall stop going on about the weather as I'm beginning to sound like a pensioner!
This post is all going to be about the lips. I have been really into mixing up my lip colour and experimenting so I thought I show you my favourite lip colours and products at the moment!

Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable in Honey Douce
Rimmel - 1000 kisses in 300 Perpetual Plum
Revlon - Lip butter in Tutti Fruitti
Rimmel - Apocolips in Luna

These lip colours and shades are all perfect for the summer and spring. They go from hot pinks to coral shades to subtle pinks. I'm addicted to finding the perfect colour for my skin tone and all 4 of these I think suit me.
The reasons I love all of these are that they're all super pigmented and they all stay on for a long time, perfect for when you're sitting in the sun lounging about with your mates! Lips can either make or break a look and I think we have all looked back at some point at old pictures and thought 'What was I thinking?'. So now I am always making sure and getting other people's opinion on my lip colour.
I'm pretty sure all of these products have either had a review about them or been featured in a monthly favourites, so therefore I won't go into much depth about each product.

Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable in Honey Douce
A gorgeous subtle pink, its a 'your lips but better' shade. I wear this a lot at school due to the fact it's so easy to apply and stays on forever.

Rimmel - 1000 kisses in 300 Perpetual Plum
A hot pink, looks amazing when you want a pop of colour! This is quite drying but when you then apply the balm at the other end it feels incredible. This also stays on forever, and barely ever needs a touch up!

Revlon - Lip butter in Tutti Fruitti
A coral/orange colour yet it's not 'in your face' but can be easily built up. It hasn't got the best staying power, but is so easy to apply it doesn't matter that much!

Rimmel - Apocolips in Luna
A nice orangy nude, this is perfect for when you want to have subtle lips as its the perfect 'middle' shade. It's not to over powering yet does give great colour to the lips. I did a whole review on the Apocolips, if you've read that, or own the Apocolips you'll know that they stay on all day without a smudge!

So these are my favourite lip colours at the moment, I hope you've enjoyed reading that! I'm now off to go lounge in the garden tanning, then off to town to have a little shopping trip (you may get a haul!!), then off to a friends house for more tanning! Have a great bank hoilday!
